I am soooooo happy to be here with Rebecca Royce today. She is the person who was so open and honest with me I felt to courage to put my words on paper and start writing. I love her to death and I am again so happy to interview her and her characters!
I found Love Beyond Time to be one of the most unique stories I had read in a long time. Was there a specific instance that brought this idea to you?
I’m not really sure where it came from. I was pregnant with my second son and just overwhelmed with creative juices and the need to write. A different version of Love Beyond Time was what resulted from that attempt. Then I had to learn how to edit, how to really create a story people would want to read. But the original idea for Love Beyond Time started there. Let’s blame it on the pregnancy hormones.
How emotional is this book? Are readers going to be crying?
I think the book is pretty emotional. There are a lot of spots where the readers might want their tissues. I needed them writing it.
How would you rate the hotness of your novel?
On a scale of 1-4 gasps of ‘wow,’ this book is 3 gasps.
Who is your favorite romance author? What are your favorite series/books from them?
Nalini Singh, the Psy-Changeling series. Every book just gets better and better. So right now, my favorite is Kiss of Snow.
If you could take your favorite character on date who would it be and what would you do? Details please! *wink*
If I could take my favorite character that I’ve written? That’s hard. It’s always the character I’m currently writing that is my favorite. So, right now I’m writing a character from the Outsiders named Samuel. I guess I would take him to the movies just so he could get his mind off everything. But, that would be about it because he would never think of anyone but Eden—she’s his soul mate.
Kal – What was your first impression of Isabelle?
She ran through the woods and I caught her in my arms. She was terrified, sweaty, beat up—and the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen.
Kal – What is your favorite part of her?
I’ve always been kind of an ass man…
Isabelle – What was your first impressions of Kal?
He was like a dark angel come to rescue me from certain death. Sounds kind of dramatic but that’s how I felt. I couldn’t believe he was really there. I’d thought I was going crazy because of the voice in my head.
Isabelle – What is your favorite part of him?
His dark eyes. Sigh. (Whacking Kal) He doesn’t need a bigger ego. I’m not saying anymore.
Kal & Isabelle – Do you feel ready for what is to come?
Kal—I’m ready for whatever fight is coming. There’s nothing I can’t do now.
Isabelle (placing hand on Kal’s arm) - We’re ready to help the others, to help in this fight. We’re all a family now. It’s going to be on all of us to beat back the demon.
Rebecca – What is to come? What do you have planned for this series?
Well, Love Beyond Sanity releases on October 1st. It’s the second book in the series. And then Love Beyond Loyalty. I don’t have a release date for that yet. I’m writing the fourth book. And I am NOT telling you what is to come. What fun would that be?
As a teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these days, that her parents think it was well worth it.
Rebecca is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best friend. They live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.
She's in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the paranormal and tries to use all of these elements in her writing. She's been told she's a little bloodthirsty so she hopes that when you read her work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.
In Rebecca Royce's world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.
Love Beyond Time
Born one half of a perfect pair, Kal has spent his life believing his other half is gone. But when fate thrusts Isabelle into his arms, he will have no choice but to become the man he was destined to be. That is, if he can battle his own demons first.
Not willing to accept her heritage as an Outsider, Isabelle tries to hide from the truth. But when Kal’s life is on the line, she will have to step forward and embrace her powers or watch everything she has come to love disappear.
She had not told her counselors about her secret 'dream man'. She wanted to but every time she thought to open up about it she found herself unwilling, or better put, unable, to share him with anyone. So she contented herself with good friends and the love she had with her family plus the pleasure she took from doing her work. But lately, it hadn't been enough. She wanted babies. She wanted his babies.
But he was just some sort of fantasy she had made up to get her through her sexual issues and make her life bearable.
Get up, Isabelle.
She blew a hair strand out of her eyes. There was that voice again. Why was it telling her to get up? What was going on? Isabelle put down her bolts and glanced around.
Thank you Rebecca for coming today! You are honestly one of my favorite people and I am honored that you are here with me.
