A Night Away - Six Sentence Sunday #37

Mel rested against Kade’s chest, listening to his heartbeat while he carried her into their cottage. Her body felt heavy yet weightless at the same time. Her mate had rocked her world, and she just wanted to curl up and never let go.
The threats of responsibility homed in on her, but she brushed them away. She just needed one night. Yes, she missed Finn like a lost limb, but she had to trust in her family and the fact that they’d take care of him and call if they needed help.
