Hi!
Thanks so much for coming today. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi Carrie Ann! I’m so happy to be here today. Thanks
for having me!
I’m a mother of two wonderful young adults - my son
is 19 and daughter is 18 - and a wife to my real life hero and soul mate. I
love reading and writing paranormal and suspense filled stories. Although I’ve
always made up stories since I was very young, I became serious about becoming
an author a little more than two years ago when I started reading paranormal
romance.
Tell
us a bit about your book.
Forgotten Visions is about a forgotten love and the
journey the couple goes through to repair the past. Here’s the blurb.
Kalissa Bradenton isn’t your average coffee shop
owner. Born to an elite witch bloodline with a rare genetic mutation, she’s a
Divinity on a mission. The death of her parents sends her away from her
Maxville, Florida home and into an ancient war between witches and demons. When
childhood friend, Ayden Daniels, comes to her aid after an almost fatal
accident, visions of a past she doesn’t remember sparks an old flame and new
desires. With the past slowly becoming clearer, she eagerly sets her sights on
mending Ayden’s heart and gaining his trust – until a ghost from her past
returns to claim her as his demonic mate.
Ayden, the new Sheriff of Maxville and grandson of
the oldest living Divinity, is investigating a series of Divinity killings.
When he comes face to face with the one woman he hopes to have little to no
contact with, old pain rises, quickly followed by anger and resentment. Through
his rare power of adaptability he learns actions from the past may not be what
they seem. Hope fills his broken heart and determination pushes him to do
whatever it takes to win Kalissa’s heart once more before his loses her
forever.
Together they must find the strength to mend their
tormented souls, while fighting an evil out to destroy the world.
Is
this part of a series?
Yes. Forgotten Visions is the first book in The
Divinities series. Right now I have five books planned.
What
did you find the hardest part of writing it to be?
The hardest part is finding time to write.
Seriously, I have a day job and teenagers! Lol Throw promoting and touring… I’m
still trying to set my pace.
What
was your favorite part?
Writing! Creating worlds and creatures that mingle
with the human world. I actually like the revision side where I start to mold
and shape my draft into a readable story.
Rate
your story in terms of steaminess (Make up your own fun scale here)
The steaminess is like all the elements rolled into
one: Spirit - emotional, water - refreshing, air - can come at you fast or
slow, earth - spicy, and fire - HOT!
Who
is your favorite romance author?
This is hard. There are so many great authors, but
the main ones I follow are JR Ward, Lara Adrian, and Sherrilyn Kenyon. There
are others I read but those are the ones that started my love for paranormal.
What
is your favorite romance book or series?
Black Dagger Brotherhood, Dark Hunters, and Midnight
Breed.
Who
is your favorite romance character? If you could go on a date with that person,
what would you do? Details please! *wink*
Rhage from BDB. J What’s not to
like? He’s a vamp that turns into a dragon! I’m not sure what the date would be
like because I’m shy, but I’m sure he’ll think of a few things. ;)
Boxers
or Briefs?
Boxer briefs!
What
is next for you?
Right now I’m getting the second book in The
Divinities series, Death’s Storm, ready to submit to Soul Mate Publishing. I
have a new series plotted called Sons of War and can’t wait to start on book 1.
What
were your first impressions of each other?
*Ayden’s smile reaches his baby blue eyes * Kalissa
and I have known each other all our lives, but the first time that I really
noticed her we were fifteen. *his smile
faded* Then something happen and we parted ways. When I came back to Maxville I
was angry at first. But it worked out in the end.
What
are your favorite parts about each other?
I love her violet eyes and the way they lighten and
darken with emotion. There are other parts I like, but those are rather personal.
*he gives Carrie Ann a wink*
What’s
next for you?
The Divinities and I will continue to hunt demons
and be a constant throne in Khan’s side. Because he has to go through us to get
to the humans.

Excerpt:
A cool
sensation passed over Kalissa Bradenton’s subconscious as she entered her
bedroom. She shivered, suddenly finding it hard to breathe. Abandonment rose
from deep inside to coil around her like a cold watery current. Panic and fear
raced in her veins as her heart rate increased alarmingly. Her intuition
screamed something was wrong.
She
rushed to her dresser, picked up her phone with shaky hands, and dialed her
mother’s cell. No answer. With blurred sight, she tried her father’s … it went
straight to voice mail. Kalissa’s dread cut through her soul and the bile taste
of fear rose in her throat, as hot tears slid down her cheek.
Gods
No! She dialed again, and again. Still nothing. It wasn’t like them to ignore
an incoming call.
Her
parents had driven into Jacksonville for a quiet dinner to celebrate their
fiftieth wedding anniversary before sharing their milestone with the coven in
the upcoming days. They should have been on their way home.
She
staggered back a few steps as images flashed in her mind’s eye, sucking her
into the vision. One minute she was in her bedroom, in the next, she stood on
the side of a highway. A royal-blue Mercedes barreled past her and flipped
repeatedly across the median into oncoming traffic on Interstate 10. Crunching
metal cut through the stillness of the night and the broken glass, littering
the ground, left a trail to where the car slammed into a large oak tree, and stopped.
When
the vision cut off, tightness gripped her chest painfully and a lump stuck in
her throat.
Author Bio:
Lia
Davis is a mother to two young adults and two very special, equally different
kitty cats. She’s a wife to her soul mate, who drives her crazy during
editing/revisions. She and her family live in Northeast Florida battling
hurricanes and very humid summers. But it’s her home and she loves it!
An
accounting major, Lia has always been a dreamer with a very activity
imagination. The wheels in her head never stop. She only recently got serious
about publishing her work and loves it more than she imagined. Writing a stress
reliever that allows her to go off in her corner of the house and enter into
another world that she created, leaving the day job where it belongs.
Her
favorite things are spending time with family, traveling, reading, writing,
chocolate, coffee, nature and hanging out with her kitties.
